Turneffe Island Lodge is situated on Caye Bokel, a 12 acre private Island located 30 miles from the coast of Belize on the South end of Turneffe Atoll which is part of the 200 mile long Belizean coral reef formation, the longest reef system in the western hemisphere. The Island is surrounded by one of the most fertile marine eco-system in the world. It is home to millions of baitfish, crabs, shrimp and other small aquatics, serving as the first link in the undersea food chain that supports the abundant marine life in the Caribbean.
The original lodge was built by Mennonite craftsmen in the 1960's and recently remodeled in a casual Caribbean motif to enhance the original "old Caribbean" designs. Like all of the buildings on the island, our dining room and lounge is located along the oceanfront. You'll enjoy spectacular array of Belizean, Caribbean, and continental cuisine during your stay. At Turneffe Island Lodge meals are served Family Style at pre-set times and service. The cuisine is prepared daily with a variety of fresh fish, meats, salads, fruits, vegetables, deserts, and other local specialties. Fresh appetizers are served each evening on the patio and helps get the evening story telling and socializing off to a good start.
The lodge also features a large swim dock; a beachside volleyball court; horseshoes; ocean kayaks; wind surfers and a gift shop. The island office has a supply of hairdryers, irons and alarm clocks on hand for guest use. A full-service dive operation includes rental equipment, gear repair, tanks, and instruction with multiple levels of certification. The lodge also boasts a large and varied fleet of boats, including a 43-foot transfer boat, a 38-foot Delta, and a pair of 25-foot Privateer dive boats. Internet, email and phone are available via satellite for guests in the main office for a nominal fee

Getting There:
Arrival - Upon arrival in Belize City, you will be met in the airport and transferred to the pier for your 1 hour and 45 minute boat transfer to Turneffe Island. Please note that you have to arrive in Belize City no later than 2:00 pm. The passenger transfer boat will leave the Princess Hotel Dock/ Marina at approximately 3:00 pm. If you can not get a flight that arrives before 2:00 pm. Please arrange to arrive in Belize the day before and spend the night at a hotel there.
Delays on Arrival - If your flight is delayed and you arrive late, or have problems clearing customs and can not connect with the boat transfer, one of the representative will meet you and advise you of alternate plans which would include spending the night at a hotel and then the scheduling of a special charter boat to the island the next day ($350 USD). You will be responsible for the payment of the hotel and special charter boat. The cost of the charter will be divided evenly among all delayed passengers.
Departure - The transfer boat will depart the island at 8:30 am, arriving Belize City approximately one hour later. Please schedule your departing flight to leave after 11:00 am. Transportation to the airport is provided if you are flying out on Saturday or to your hotel if you are staying in Belize City.

At Turneffe Island Lodge accommodations are very modern, they have been recently renovated and are designed and built to be elegant, peaceful, and relaxing. Choose from 12 finely adorned rooms and 8 private cabanas all with Mahogany wood paneling and flooring, large opening windows, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, screened in porches, daily housekeeping, indoor showers and the ever popular private outdoor showers.
The hotel have 4 deluxe rooms, 8 superior rooms, and 8 stand alone cabanas. Each room is amost identical in design and quality, and all have direct ocean views.
