Visit to a religious center founded by the spiritualist visionary Tia Neiva(Aunt Neiva) just after Brasília was inaugurated. It is a uniquely ecumenical compound of temples and abodes that sprang forth to serve the destitute workers during the construction of Brasilia. Its first missions included (and in part continues to be) feeding and educating homeless children in Brazil and, providing spiritual healing and guidance to all who come through its doors. Today Vale do Amanhecer houses a community with approximately 2,000 people and various `mediums` that give assistance to 50,000 people per month. Aunt Neiva, now deceased, claimed to be chosen by the `Astral` beings to perform a "mission of salvation to those elected and to announce the coming of the Third Millenium".
The Federal District, Brasilia, is the nation's capital. With its bold architectural style, the capital city is so avant garde that is stands out as the only 20th century architectural complex to be proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
