A charming hotel in an exceptional location, ideal for enjoying the surrounding nature and the local way of life; a limited number of rooms means Picinguaba retains an exclusive allure and allows for both a high quality and an individual service for all of their guests, whether you come for a romantic break or with a larger group of family or friends.
General facility

Picinguaba overlooks a peaceful bay at the heart of the Natural Park of Serra do Mar. It is the only luxury hotel in a 30 km radius. It faces the sea and a 3 km-long protected sandy beach. The local road stops at the beach and one has to walk the last 250 km to the hotel, nestled in the forest.

Everything there is attuned to the spirit of the place, with nothing to disturb nature`s magic: no TV or telephone in the rooms, no internet. This place want you to feel in a different world, the only sounds are the wind in the palm trees and the sea gently lapping the shore.

The large spring-water swimming pool is set in a tropical garden, designed by a Sao Paulo garden architect, local species were chosen with special care so the garden have flowers at all seasons. You can relax in a hammock under the trees, or sunbathe near the pool; you will find your favorite spots according to the time of day and the sun. A wooden deck overlooking the sea offers a fabulous view of the whole bay, particularly at sunset.

The pool bar offers fresh tropical juices cocktails and snacks during the day.The restaurant offers lunch and dinner for hotel guests only. The menu features delicious local specialties. They also have a fine selection of wines from South America.

Arts and crafts are everywhere in the pousada. The interior decoration is a mix of Portuguese colonial architecture and the primitive art of Amazonian Indians. As in many colonial houses, common rooms are large. One of them is equipped with a home cinema. In the lounge you will find a rich multi-lingual library, with a good selection of books on Brazilian culture, as well as a selection from the country`s rich literary heritage. A piano and a guitar are availabe for any guests who would like to play. The drawing room is the ideal place for observing birds, or to sip an afternoon tea.

TOURIST VISA REQUIRED FOR U.S. CITIZENS VISITING BRAZIL. VISAS MUST BE OBTAINED IN ADVANCED FROM THE BRAZILIAN CONSULATE.

Room facility

There are nine rooms, double or twin, some with an extra bed, and a honeymoon suite, accommodating a maximum of 24 people. Each room has a private balcony with a hammock.
The hotel decoration is sober and includes original works of Brazilian artists. The rooms are simple but comfortable. No TV, telephone, internet or air-conditioning (as you can enjoy natural sea breeze)) in the rooms. The rooms decorate with just a few orchids on the table. All the rooms are different but of the same standard, except the spectacular honeymoon suite with its ensuite Jacuzzi and large balcony overlooking the sea.
