The Mercure Grand Internacional Foz Hotel is situated nearby the points where the three frontiers of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet, and at the confluence of the Parana and Iguassu Rivers, the Landmarks of the three Frontiers were constructed by the respective armies in the year 1903 and have become, with the passage of time, some of the largest tourist attractions in the Iguacu Falls area.
