Chichen Itza Vacations Home | Mexico | Chichen Itza
Recently selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and declared a World Heritage Site in 1988 by UNESCO, Chichen Itza is one of Mexico's most visited archaeological sites today and can be reached from Cancun or Merida, capital of the Yucatan Peninsula. The Mayan communities near Chichen Itza have developed many wonderful sites for travelers to rejoice in the Maya Cultural heritage. It is recommended you avoid a day-trip visit to Chichen Itza and schedule a night or two to enjoy all the activities nearby. This allows time to see more than just a portion of this large site. Considered one of the most important capitals of Mayan culture, here you can admire spectacular constructions such as El Castillo (The Castle) and the Kukulcan Temple, El Observatorio (The Observatory), the Caracol and the largest ball court discovered in the Mesoamerican region. There is also the Sagrado sinkhole, which is 30 meters (100 feet) wide in diameter.

* Sample prices on display include ALL taxes and fuel surcharges and are per person, based on double occupancy, and are dynamic in nature. Additional airport departure taxes and foreign-government-imposed fees may apply in certain countries and are to be collected upon leaving the country of destination. Prices do not include insurance or delivery charges which are optional and customizable by the traveler. The airfare portion of the itinerary price is based on economy class, midweek departure. Air taxes and surcharges vary by airports used and destination. The airfare portion of the itinerary price normally includes: the September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 for each flight segment, with a maximum of up to $5 per one-way or $10 per roundtrip; Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18, depending on itinerary; Federal Segment Fees of $ 3.70 per segment; airline-imposed fuel surcharges; airport taxes and other government-imposed fees depending on routing and destination (foreign or domestic). A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Prices were accurate at the time we posted them. Sample prices were for a specific travel date and specific departure airport, as indicated. Your prices will vary according to departure cities and travel dates. We do not control prices (airlines and hotel reservation systems do). Prices may change dynamically and at times significantly numerous times during any given day. Some foreign authorities require fees at arrival or departure that must be collected directly from the passengers at the airport.
