Our departure from San Jose to the Arenal Volcano was an hour earlier than originally scheduled, but the tour company informed us well in advance of this change. I was highly impressed that the tour company called us on our first full day in Costa Rica to see how things were going. The hotels were good. We stayed at the Casa Luna hotel in La Fortuna for two nights. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but the accommodations were good and the pool was very nice. Right from the airport pick-up at Juan Santamaria Airport, your local provider operating under your agency were very courteous, friendly, helpful and above all on they were ON_TIME at each location to pick us for the transfers until they dropped us back at the airport. Honestly we were `WOW`ed by your service. All the hotels were we stayed at San Jose (Holiday Inn), Arenal, La Fortuna (Casa Luna) and Monteverde (Montana) were good with nice breakfast and facilities. Only on two occasion we had some discomfort and inconveniences, On our 1st night stay at Holiday Inn, Aurola at San Jose, the water was not draining properly in the bath-tub which we reported to Hotel Staff when we checked out. The other occasion was we got transferred from La Fortuna to Monteverde using jeep-boat-jeep transfers, the drop-off point at La Fortuna near the lake, the road was going down very steep to board the boat and we need to carry our luggage in that steep slope which was dangerous and put us into discomfort. When we reached the other end of the lake, we were put in a small van with not much leg space and we were eight of us in that small van along with driver and the road to Monteverde was rough and bumpy throughout putting us to lot of inconvenience. We complaint this to the driver and she could not do much whereas other travelers were put in a bigger Hyundai vans. We were not able to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Monteverde during that transfer. Apart from this two above incident everything was fine. We took some local tours through hotels where we stayed and they were also well organized. We will definitely recommend to our friends about your website and looking forward to work with you services again next year for our South American tour mainly Brazil and other nearby countries. Hello, Meant to send this sooner, but I did want to say thanks for helping to make the trip amazing! Everyone was friendly, courteous and on-time. The regular calls to alert us of any changes or to make sure things were going well were much appreciated. Zip-lining was the best activity for me, though my wife liked the kayaking. Either way, they were all excellent and well-guided. There were a couple times we were short on cash to tip some guides that were exceptionally good. Is there a way to rectify this? Alex, who was our transport for: San Jose (Hotel Aurola) to La Fortuna, on Nov 4 at 7am San Jose (Hotel Aurola) to Airport, on Nov 10 at 5:20am He was pretty awesome, and his suggestions for tres leches were spot-on. Also, Steven was our guide for the Half-Day Hanging Bridges (morning) on November 8 (Thursday) in Monteverde. He was a tremendous guide and we`d like to show our gratitude, but could not at the time. Other guides were great too, but for the most part we were able to tip. Speaking of that, if this wasn`t in the original paperwork you might remind people to check with their banks to make sure they`ll be able to withdraw cash from their account while out of the country. I`ve not had trouble with this in the past, but with the upswing in identity theft I suspect banks are getting more pro-active in blocking some transaction if they suspect it`s not the right person making them. This was the very first time that I was ever outside of the US. Laura was about 15 years ago, but things have changed a lot since then. As first time travelers we had a lot of worries. You helped put them at ease. We got off the airplane in San Jose and got our luggage. A few feet from the baggage claim, there was a gentleman standing there with our names on a dry erase board. He gave us stickers of the travel agency and told us how to find our driver. Thank goodness he did that, because as soon as we walked outside we were surrounded by people wanting to take us to our hotel. We found the Representative waiting outside and he took us to our shuttle. As soon as we got settled in our hotel room, we got a phone call asking if we got there ok. We were already very impressed. In San Jose, we stayed at the Hotel Grano de Oro. It was so beautiful. Everyone there was so nice and very helpful. The next morning we were picked up and driven to our hotel in La Fortuna/Mt. Arenal. The driver was very nice and even stopped at cute place to go to the bathroom, grab something to eat and buy souvenirs. Our hotel in Arenal was the Volcano Lodge and Gardens. The view from these rooms was beautiful. Again, everyone was so nice. We took a hanging bridge tour on the first full day there. It was a good time. Our guide was nice, but it felt like we were kind of rushed. From there we were picked up for our shuttle - boat - shuttle ride. The boat ride was breathtaking. The driver would pull over to show us different animals that we would see on the way. He was extremely nice. After shuttle from the boat dock to Monteverde was extremely bumpy. Our driver tried very hard to avoid all of the big pot holes that he could. The hotel in Monteverde was very nice. We spent the least amount of time there, though since we were finally getting our exploring legs and wanted to go see everything that we could. Then did the hanging bridges there the next day as well. We had our own personal tour :-) Our guide was very knowledgeable. We even saw the Resplendent Quetzal. Our guide had lived there his whole life and only seen it a few times. He kept telling us that we were very lucky. :-) Our shuttle driver from Monteverde back to San Jose was the absolute best. He talked to us about our trip and the thing we were passing on the way back to San Jose. It was only the three of us in the shuttle, so he asked us if we needed to stop for the bathroom or to look at anything. We didn`t have to so we told him that as long as he didn`t have to eat or use the restroom, we would be fine if he wanted to continue on without stopping. We made it back to San Jose at a nice time and got settled back in at the Hotel Grano de Oro. The concierge helped us find things to do our last night there. We had a great time. Transportation and hotel accommodations were organized very well. Hotel Presidente did a great job. They upgraded us to a large room that looked newly remodeled and gave us a breakfast box with our 4AM departure. Magic Mountain is a great location and the room was excellent. Hotel Montana looks a bit tired. I would consider staying somewhere else if we returned. The food was good and the service was good. Overall we were very pleased with the trip and would highly recommend your website to our friends. We are planning a trip to Argentina next year and will plan on using you for our plans.

The entire trip was without a sour note, from being met at the airport (several arrivals), to being picked up in the middle of the night at the exact time, we had a perfect trip. The hotels were wonderfully appropriate. The Art Lodge in San Jose was a pure delight. The Fonda Vela at Monteverde was wonderful. The Magic Mountain at Arenal was fine. We did all the usual tourist stuff (go see the volcano, cross Lake Arenal; zip line and walk bridges through the forest canopy; take a guided tour into the cloud forest; visit hot springs; horseback riding; and many delicious meals. All of the drivers were just wonderful, informative and skilled, when either giving us another thrill ride or a calm and leisurely sightseeing tour. All pickups were right on time, all reservations were without a hitch. And more people speak English in Costa Rica, it seems, than in our home area in Miami and the Florida Keys. Hi, We had wonderful time at Costa Rica. All the arrangements were very good. We liked all the hotels we stayed in. Britannia (in San Jose) location made it easy to walk about. Volcano lodge at Arenal was outstanding with nice rooms, beautiful garden and very good food on site. All the drivers were very friendly and courteous and vehicles were in excellent conditions. In all, memorable trip of all of us. Will not hesitate to recommend your website to friends. Few comments: 1. On our return flight, there was just 1 hour to make a connection at Houston (Liberia - Houston - SFO). Need atleast 2 hours to clear customs, security, change terminal etc. We asked for later flight (Houston - SFO) at Liberia airport and were lucky to get confirmed seats by the time we reached Houston. (Initial response was all later flights were full) 2. We started off from one of the suggested itenarery for 7 nights San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, Liberia. It was our 1st visit to Costa Rica and did not realize many inside roads were not paved and took long time to cover short distance. Should have looked into staying more nights at one place and visiting nearby Cloud/ Rain forests In all, great trip and good arrangements.
