Located in the Tilarán Mountain Range at 4,600 ft. above sea level on the edge of the world`s best known mid-elevation cloud forest, close to the village of Santa Elena and 3 km from the Reserve Monteverde Lodge is the ultimate lodging experience for the discerning nature traveler.

A cavernous entrance foyer leads up to a spacious and elegant open dining room with a soaring beamed ceiling, and a cozy bar with leather chairs from Sarchi around an open hearth, which has a log fire blazing at night. Chessboards and backgammon are at hand. The bar looks down on a large Jacuzzi (open 24 hours) enclosed by a glass atrium that complements the redbrick and timber lodge. Wraparound windows offer wonderful views over the landscaped grounds and forested valley, the gardens, emphasizing ferns and bromeliads, have been planted with native plant species that replicate the natural cloud forest and attract its fauna.

A running stream, pond and small waterfall provide a habitat for riverine birds and a host of reptiles and amphibians. Carefully placed benches provide a comfortable place, offering privacy and/or panoramic vistas from the Lodge to observe the wildlife, read, write, or just wile away the hours.
