Tortuga Lodge's main reason for existence is to provide excellent accommodations for people interested in experiencing Tortuguero National Park. The dining room and bar feature a shaded verandah, which has been called “the best in Costa Rica” by many of the guests. The people of Tortuguero are more relaxed than anyplace else in Costa Rica. So if you get so laid back at the lodge feel free to fall into a comfortable hammock. The swimming pool at the lodge was recently added and won the International Design Award of Excellence, designed to blend into the river environment it features an environmentally friendly purification system that uses an undetectable amount of salt
