Centro Neotropico Sarapiqui is a hotel designed to resemble a 15th century indigigenous village. It includes a hotel, accommodations for scientists, an archeological site, a biodiversity museum, and botanical and organic vegetable gardens.

It is located next to the 350-acre Tirimbina nature reserve, which is one of the few remaining strands left of the Costa Rican tropical rain forest. The twenty-four rooms at Centro Neotropico are designed to emulate the housing of native Costa Rica before the Spanish came to the country. They are built in three enormous palenques, thatched-roof rancho-style houses, each with an outside porch, a perfect place for birding or just relaxing and reading a book. Also on site are a rain forest museum and an archaeological site containing four large pre-Columbian tombs dating back to 800AD. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner a the restaurant which serves international and local Costa Rican cuisine.

Each room includes private bathroom, homemade furniture, pre-Columbian figures, ceiling fans, telephone, television and covered terrace with great views.
