2 nights in Tambopata - Amazon
Tambopata and its massive wilderness reserves, are accessed from Puerto Maldonado, at the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers in the Amazon Basin. The riverside city serves as a gateway to what very well may be the world's most expansive and bio-diverse jungle rainforest habitats.
With a combined area of more than 3.6 million acres with a staggering array of wildlife species includes hundreds of different mammals, amphibians and reptiles, over 1300 types of butterflies, more than 600 different bird species, and the largest Macaw clay lickon the world.
Accommodations here are designed to enhance your experience of the Tambopata Amazon, and are essentially an integral part of its biosphere offering excursions into the remote areas of the reserves, authentic cuisine, and charming rustic luxury.
This is an opportunity to come face to face with our planet as it was before the dawn of man, and can be linked by a 30 minute flight to the Incan wonders of Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
2 nights in Sacred Valley
The Sacred Valley of the Incas is one of the most alluring destinations in Peru, encompassing a chain of fascinating villages that line the Urubamba, Vilcanota and Wilcamayu Rivers. This meticulously terraced valley, is the gateway to many of Peru's most spectacular archeological sites, including the iconic lost city of Machu Picchu, 2 hours away by train.
The Sacred Valley provides visitors an opportunity to experience the vibrant history of the area by admiring Incan sites like Ollantaytambo Fortress and Pisaq Ruins. And there is no shortage of activities for visitors here, offering an array of outdoor adventures such as hiking, horse back riding, and white water rafting on the Vilcanota River. To get to the Sacred Valley, one must first arrive to Cuzco city, then take a ground transfer of around 2 hours through either one of 2 routes: road to Pisaq or road to Urubamba.
The Sacred Valley can be linked with other remarkable Peruvian destinations, and Featured Itneraries can be customized to your personal vacation preferences.
1 nights in Machu Picchu
"The Lost City of the Incas" is set high above the Sydney, protected by steep cliffs, and lush green mountains. Generally accepted as the most important and captivating archaeological sites remaining from the Incan Empire, the complex, which includes temples, residences, fountains and hundreds of steps, was declared a World Heritage site in 1983, and voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
Known as masterful architects and builders it is still a mystery how the Incas built this magical place, transported the huge stones that it is made of, or how this massive complex was kept secret for four hundred years.
Located 50 miles from Cuzco, travelers reach Machu Picchu by train, and accommodations are available adjacent to the citadel itself, or in the nearby town of Agua Calientes. Daytrips to the Lost City can also be arranged from Cuzco, or the Sacred Valley, and our flexible itineraries can help you combine Machu Picchu with other remarkable Peruvian destinations, choose from hand picked hotels, and plan additional activities.
2 nights in Cuzco
Cuzco was the epicenter of Incan civilization until the arrival of the Spaniards in 1533. Fortunately many stunning Incan structures have survived, and helped to make Cuzco the archaeological capital of the Americas, and Peru's most popular destination.
Gateway to the Sacred Valley, and the lost city of Machu Picchu, Cuzco has a seemingly endless array of historic attractions, both Incan and colonial.
Cuzco abounds with excellent accommodations, and from here visitors can make day trips to the Sacred Valley, or ride the train Machu Picchu.
One of the world's most historically important, and exciting cities, Cuzco, along with Machu Picchu are must see destinations.

In a word. Memorable. All of your recommendations were spot on. Your local travel company, performed flawlessly. Their employee met us at every transition point and seemed to appear out of thin air. They were friendly, knowledgable, and went the extra mile whether it was driving, leading us on a tour if the Pisac Market, or a 15 person tour of Machu Picchu. Each of the hotels had a unique feel that reflected its unique location. The tours were brilliantly lead by dedicated guides who spoke perfect English. We have travelled extensively as a family. I highly recommend the website to anyone. Thank you for putting together such a fantastic memory.

The excursions were better than we expected and the guides were very knowledgable and interesting, so we got the know the people there not just stuff out of a guide book. Dear all,
Yes, we just got back from our trip and loved it. Thank you so much for arranging everything. Here`s a quick run down and feel free to use my name on your future reference and comments:
1. Lima: Did not like Jose Antonio Executive Hotel at all - The worse thing was that they missed our early AM wake up call (Although to be safe we had arranged for 2 wake up calls and I had to wake their employee up with my call- so he can call for a a taxi. We almost missed our flight because of that). On our return we were booked at Hotel Colon and liked that hotel much better- more professional/ better breakfast/ good location all around.
2. Sandoval Lodge: Very organized and on time- we loved our stay there- the staff were knowledgable and helpful. The food could improve a bit/ but overall we were happy with the service.
3. Inti Inn in Aquas Caliande: Darling hotel. The pick up from the hotel, train, etc. was very organized, no issues at all. The lunch at the Santuary Lodge was great (thanks for the treat).
4. Condor Travel: Superb. We had a very good experience with the agents. a) my daughter got sick with altittue problem/ they sent a doctor to the hotel right away and helped me out a lot. We then ask them if we can cut our stay in Cusco one night and instead stay in Olllanto Village.... the arranged that beautifully. We stayed at this amazing new Lodge in Ollanto village and they picked us up on time the next day for a ride back to Cusco. Very professional very organized. Please extend our thank you to them as well.
5. Flight back home: Hellish. And this has nothing to do with LatinDestinations. Delay from Lima (American Airline/ Mech problem)/ missed our flight to SF from Miami- put us on a flight to LA- had Mech problem, 2 hours delayed... missed connection in LA/ then another cancelled flight....... Exhusting.
So, where are you going to send us next? Back to Brazil? Do you have any connection with South East Asia? Thailand/Vietnam?
Again, many thanks to you, Veronica (amazing woman) and April.

I have already recommended Latindestinations.com to friends and relatives who have asked about our trip to Peru. Our trip was absolutely delightful from beginning to end. The guides and drivers that made sure we made it from airports to hotels to trains and through the Machu Picchu tour were all wonderful. We enjoyed their conversation and education about the country as well as appreciated greatly all their advice and direction. The Amazon leg of the trip was fabulous also. No amount of reading up and reviewing pictures could have prepared us for this awesome adventure. I may sound new to international travel, but I am not. Though it is the first time I did not hop into a rental car upon arrival. I am very grateful I did not. You have taught me a valuable lesson in the sensibility and trip enrichment of using guides.
Thank you for a wonderful trip.

Thank you for everything. We had a wonderful trip to Peru. Just as you promised, we were met at all the airports/train stations by guides who took us directly to our hotels. The rainforest experience was tremendous. Our rainforest guide was absolutely delightful ? he was by far our favorite guide, and that is saying something because we were very happy with all the guides. We had great guides and very small groups in Cusco and at Machu Piccu. The Sacred Valley tour was larger (15 people), but again we were happy with our guide.
As for the hotels. the first one in Lima was Jose Antonio and we would not stay there again ? it smelled poorly. In hindsight we wish we had booked a standard room closer to the airport.
Even though we wished we had hot water, we would definitely recommend the rainforest hotel Posada Amazonas. The amenities were quite spartan, but the staff, food and setting were fabulous.
In Cusco we stayed at the Liberator which was a very nice hotel, but not fabulous. Our opinion was probably tainted a bit by the fact that our view was of an alley. Their breakfast however was significantly better than I was expecting. The Casa Andina Private Collection was superb ? a lovely hotel in a spectacular setting with a pleasant and competent staff. The Casa Andina had by far the best breakfast of any hotel we stayed at.
And finally, the Marriott Lima was really a great hotel in a beautiful setting, we would definitely stay there again. The staff really went above and beyond by accommodating us until 7:00 on the day of our departure ? they were really great.
Again Brenda, thank you for everything.
