Trip Summary
2 nights in Panama City - Canal

Panama City is a delightful combination of the historic and the modern, in one of Latin America's most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities, and for travelers wanting to escape to warm tropical shores, there is no hotter destination. Known to many a the home of the Panama Canal, this exhilarating is just a stone's throw from some of some Central America's richest rain forests, and complex eco systems.

Panama City has long been known as an international crossroads, given its position as one the, if not the Latin capital of international finance, which has helped to make it extremely welcoming towards visitors, and although it is broken into numerous neighborhoods or "corregimientos" there are really the equivalent of Three Cities here that are historically, architecturally, in some ways culturally distinct. There is the modern city with the huge skyscrapers housing many of financial institutions that make their home here, the Colonial-era "Casco Viejo" and "Panama Viejo" with the remnants of the original colonial city, the first in the Americas on the Pacific coast.

Panama is a relatively small country, approximately the size of South Carolina, which means that many of its most exciting attractions are within driving distance which makes Panama City-Canal the perfect base of operations for a wide variety of daytrips or as a hub for, multi-night stays in other great Panamanian destinations. With great tours of the Canal, the Old Cities, canopy adventures, trips to indigenous villages, excursions to some of Central Americas most beautiful and bio rich national parks. World class hotels, restaurants, shopping, and spectacular night life has made this a one of Latin America?s most popular cities with international travelers for business and pleasure, and a city that regularly surpasses visitors expectations.

Panama City can easily be linked with other exquisite beach, dive, cultural and eco destinations both in Panama, and throughout Latin America.

The trip went very well. The transfers were smooth. All the drivers arrived early, were polite, and friendly. We enjoyed each one of them. Yes, I would recommend your services to my friends. My only complaint is that someone (from Gamboa Tours) phoned us at Finca Lerida. They left no message or a name, and it took hours to find out why they called. They only needed to confirm the pick-up time. I wish the person had simply left a message. I was worried that someone from my family had called with an emergency! We LOVED the Finca Lerida. It was lovely, the food was great, and the staff was wonderful. We took a tour with Cesar and he was a knowledgable guide. The Royal Decameron was fine. The Suites Ambassor was well located. When we arrived, there was no water, and the staff kept promising they would fix it soon. Hours went by. We later realized when we went to dinner that ALL the water was off in that section (El Cangrejo) of Panama. We wished that the staff had just told us that at the beginning. The hotel actually had no control over when the water would be turned back on. Other than that, it was fine. The Partial Transit Tour of Panama Canal was lots of fun. However, your website description said it included breakfast and lunch, but it only included lunch, which we didn`t get until 1:00 pm. Luckily, another tourist had warned us about the lack of breakfast, so we ate before we went. Your website was fine, except for the description of the Partial Transit of the Panama Canal, which reads exactly the same as the Full Transit of the Panama Canal. Obviously, they are not the same. Also, for some reason, I could not download the "activities" section at the Finca Lerida on your website. It didn`t matter, as we made the arrangements when we got there.
