On 4.5-mile-wide Lake Apoyo, a crater lake formed when the Apoyo volcano exploded more than 20,000 years ago. Lake Apoyo is situated about 25 miles southeast of the Nicaraguan capital city of Managua, and about 5 miles northwest of the colonial city of Granada.

Guest of the Norome Villas will have complete use of the Resort's amenities, which include: a lakeside bar, a restaurant with room service, a spa offering everything from mud baths to massages, a secluded Jacuzzi next to a man-made waterfall, and hammocks and wooden swings in the trees. Swim in the warm, therapeutic lake, sail, kayak, fish, hike, ride horses, or walk the trails to watch for birds (one recent group of bird-watching experts spotted 35 species in an hour) or monkeys. The 133 bedrooms are located in 56 Caribbean-style villas fully equipped with air conditioning, Direct TV, king size or single beds, balcony or terrace and lake or garden views. Each Norome Villa is handcrafted to the last detail and fully furnished to guarantee a pleasant and comfortable stay.
