Trip Summary
3 nights in Panama City - Canal

Panama City is a delightful combination of the historic and the modern, in one of Latin America's most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities, and for travelers wanting to escape to warm tropical shores, there is no hotter destination. Known to many a the home of the Panama Canal, this exhilarating is just a stone's throw from some of some Central America's richest rain forests, and complex eco systems.

Panama City has long been known as an international crossroads, given its position as one the, if not the Latin capital of international finance, which has helped to make it extremely welcoming towards visitors, and although it is broken into numerous neighborhoods or "corregimientos" there are really the equivalent of Three Cities here that are historically, architecturally, in some ways culturally distinct. There is the modern city with the huge skyscrapers housing many of financial institutions that make their home here, the Colonial-era "Casco Viejo" and "Panama Viejo" with the remnants of the original colonial city, the first in the Americas on the Pacific coast.

Our vacation to Panama was wonderful. The hotels were exactly as represented and the transfers were always on time with very professional, courteous drivers. I was a little hesitant about the Suites Ambassador but it turned out to be perfect for us. The location was great and the hotel, although older was clean and roomy and the front desk was extremely helpful. I would certainly recommend your website and your local provider to anyone traveling to Panama.

The trip was fine. Copa Airlines did a nice job. The Ambassador Suites hotel was very difficult to locate being on a small side street. The rooms were converted studio apartments with beautiful bathrooms and high quality beds and furniture but the rooms were painted a depressing gray and had no pictures or decorator touches. The rooms need a new paint color and decorator accessories. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Driving in Panama City is hectic and difficult and no place for a timid driver. They have very few street signs and those that they do have are not very conspicuous. The ceviche purchased at a booth at the public fish market is the best I have ever tasted. Outside the city the driving is fine. Breezes Resort was nice and the staff accommodating. Overall it was a nice trip. If you have any future trip specials please keep me posted.
