El Calafate is better known as the National Capital of Glaciers. Declared a Monument of the World by UNESCO, it extends 350 KM and covers 14,300 squared kilometers with 47 major glaciers. High season is from December to February, when the sun only sets at 10 pm, and during Easter (be sure you plan ahead as the hotels get sold out). |
