Day 1: Lima You will arrive to Lima: one of the most important and modern cities in South America founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Upon arrival you will be received at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Overnight in Lima. Day 2: Lima In the afternoon, a trip to the essential Lima, 'The City of Kings' including the most important architectural icons of the city, such as the Main Square, where you can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Then, you continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel dating back to the 16th century. On your way to the modern area of the city, you will cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, the new financial heart of the city, to take a look at pre-Inca Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, you conclude the circuit in Miraflores, where you will visit the 'Parque del Amor' (Love Park) an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight in Lima. Day 3: Cuzco After being picked up from the hotel in Lima and taken to the airport, embark your flight from Lima into the Capital of the Inca Empire - Cuzco. Upon arrival to Cuzco you will be received at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the morning is free to rest and get acclimatized to the altitude. In the afternoon, you will visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. You start the trip visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, you will stop at the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compania. Going on with the tour, you will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domains the city. Then you will continue the tour to Kenko, a vast rocky hilltop carved into staircases, holes and channels, probably built to store the chicha (fermented maize beer) used in Inca rituals. And finally, visit the archaeological Inca remains of Tambomachay known as the 'Baths of the Inca'. Overnight in Cuzco. Meals Included: Breakfast at Lima Hotel. |

Day 4: Sacred Valley In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cuzco and driven towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will stop on the way to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley, with crops dressing the mountains like carpets. You will arrive to the colorful market of Pisac, where you will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. You will continue to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch. Finally, you will visit Ollantaytambo, attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable channels and stone streets, where you will discover the remainings of the only Inca Fortress that allowed incan troops to defeat the spanish conquistadores. Overnight in the Sacred Valley. Meals Included: Breakfast at Cuzco Hotel and Lunch during Sacred Valley tour. |

Day 5: MachuPicchu You will wake up very early in the morning for a transfer from your Sacred Valley hotel to the Ollanta Train Station. You will board the Expedition Train to enjoy a 2-hour journey passing through lush, green fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. Final train destination is Aguas Calientes, the little town with an elevation of 6,700 ft., located at the bottom of MachuPicchu Mountain. Your tour guide will walk with you to the bus stop (next door to the train station). Then A 20 minute bus ride takes you to the top of the mountain, where you will find the entrance to the marvelous citadel, an awe-inspiring sight, MachuPicchu. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit you the history around this mysterious and charming place. After the tour, descend to Aguas Calientes and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your ride back to Cuzco will consist on the return train ride to Ollanta onboard the Expedition and a ground transfer from Ollanta train station to your hotel in Cuzco. Overnight in Cuzco. Day 6: Andahuaylillas, Racchi, La Raya and Puno You will be picked up from your hotel in Cuzco and then transferred to the bus station where you will board the bus to Puno. On the way you will stop first at Andahuaylillas, a town where a precious church from the 17th century boasts an amazing organ decorated with angels and cherubs. Later on, you will continue the tour at the famous ?Inca Temple of Racchi?, The Temple of God Wiracocha, here our local guide will show us the most important sectors of Racchi. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant on route followed by a stop at Pucara, a quaint village in the Vilcanota Valley. The potters of Pucara are famous for the small ceramic toritos or bulls they make. You will continue the journey throughout the Andean plateau till you reach the highest point on the road between Cusco and Puno, a freezing place called 'La Raya', surrounded by huge snow-capped mountains at 4335 meters high. At this point you will get off the bus for pictures and also, if you wish, to purchase some hand-made products of Alpaca or Vicuna wool, in one of the little shops nearby. The arrival to Puno is in the afternoon. Once you arrive in Puno bus station our representative will meet you and assist you in transferring to your selected hotel. Overnight in Puno town or Lake Titicaca shore (according to your hotel selection). Meals Included: Breakfast at Cuzco Hotel and Lunch on a local restaurant on the way to Puno. |

Day 7: Lake Titicaca Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and then transferred to the harbor. The first visiting point of this boat excursion will be the floating islands of the Uros, also called The Lake Town, a small community that has lived on these reed Islands for decades. Centuries ago the small indigenous Uros tribe conceived of the islands as a way to isolate and protect themselves from rival tribes, the Collas and the Incas. The Uros people harvested the reeds in the shallows of the lake, bundled them together tightly and built floating island platforms complete with reed houses and canoes, creating in this way their own little world. You continue the boat trip to Taquile island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who kindly welcomes tourists, keeping their traditions alive, as well as their costumes and colorful typical dresses, These people are very skilled artisans and they show in every piece of work all the techniques developed for centuries. After finishing the tour you will go back to Puno harborand then you will be transfered to your selected hotel. Overnight in Puno town or Lake Titicaca shore (according to your hotel selection). Meals Included: Breakfast at Hotel and Box Lunch during Titicaca tour. |

Day 8: Sillustani Early in the morning you will be transferred to Juliaca airport, on the way, you will visit the Sillustani Graves, an archaeological site located 34 Km. north of Puno. It has the famous Chullpas, which are funerary towers with circle base, built in stone. They can reach 12m tall. Below these ruins there is Lake Umayo, which increases the beauty of this mystic and wonderful place. |
