Highlights
East of Puerto Maldonado, along the Rio Madre de Dios, this lovely lodge is located on high bluffs overlooking Sandoval Lake, and getting here is fun. After walking (or riding a bicycle rickshaw), you hop on a canoe and paddle a canal and then across the lake. The facilities are spacious and half of the rooms have private bathrooms and there is electricity at night for a few hours. Sandoval Lake Lodge offers the best introduction to the Peruvian rainforest.
General facility

Sandoval Lake Lodge is located in the Tambopata Candamo Reserve Zone. This privileged location gives you exclusive access to the lake in the early morning and late afternoon, the choice hours for wildlife viewing and photography.

Rainforest specialists consider Sandoval Lake as the best and most attractive lake in the Peruvian rain forest. Here you will find predators in peril of extinction such as the jaguar and the Giant Otter. On many days the resident family of Giant Otters swims and fishes in front of the lodge. Frequently Hoatzins flash their wings and breathe their hoarse complaints within a few feet of the lodge dock.

Round-trip transfers from/to the airport in Puerto Maldonado
A ccommodation in Standard room
All meals and snack
All rainforest and lake excursions
Bilingunal Naturalist guide
