1 - Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca by Air
We just got back this past week from our breathtaking tour of Machu Picchu and the surrounding areas of Cusco,Lima, Puno.

We were surprisingly welcomed your Representatives upon arriving at the Lima Airport which pretty much set up the schedule of being promptly greeted at every stop on our itinerary in Peru!

We liked the hotels, especially El Mapi, Machu Picchu. The Sacred Valley tour was exceptional.
We so enjoyed Machu Picchu that we went back on our own the 2nd day.
In Puno, Condor arranged a perfect tour for us of the floating islands of Uros and Taquile in Lake Titicaca.
Back in Lima we caught the Mistura Food Festival and a trip to Palomino Island, where we swam with the sea lions. We are on YOU TUBE, a tv crew of the 3-2-1 Maria Pia children`s show was on board filming the passengers swimming with the sea lions.

We are sad our vacation came to an end.

We couldn`t have done it withoutyour website! and your local tour operator !

Overall, the vacation to Peru was fabulous!

Your local tour operator provided us with excellent transfer services at each location, very prompt, extremely courteous and always eager to ensure that the travel itinerary played out exactly as we had hoped. The private daily transportation service gave us the flexibility to be sightseeing tourists without worrying that the bus might be delayed if an unscheduled event occurred. The individual drivers followed good safe driving practises in the tight city streets and the winding countyside roads.

Your local providers bilingual tour guide services were quite outstanding in every respect. We would use your local provider again.

From Cusco through the Sacred Valley of the Inca to Machu Picchu, we enjoyed the colorful and educational narrative provided by Lucrecia. She covered many aspects of the past history, answered a myriad of questions. . . and provided us some great local knowledge. Lucrecia deserves some special recogniton for her caring and immediate attention when my wife became ill during our overnight stay at Ollantaytambo and throughout the trip to Machu Picchu. She made an early morning telephone call for a local doctor, then again at The Sanctuary Hotel, she made sure that the onsite doctor was available if needed. Fortunately, my wife was able to enjoy Machu Picchu on the second day of our visit.

In Puno, Alicia was our tour guide from arrival to departure. During the boat trip to the amazing Uros Islands and onward to Taquile, we enjoyed learning from her about these two very different habitats and lifestyles.

Here`s a summary about our hotel choices:

Cusco. . . Libertador Palacio del Inca lived up to it`s four star rating. The accomodations, food services and overall hotel facilities were great. The hotel staff was most accomodating and courteous. We would highly recommend this property.

Ollantaytambo. . . Pakaritampu Hotel did not meet the standards we had hoped for. The reception area is small and very crowded when tour groups arrive and depart. Check-in was hectic! The bar and restaurant areas are sparcely furnished, not appealing and lack warmth. The morning buffet breakfast selection was the worst we have been offered in all our travels.

Pakaritampu Hotel`s front desk staff were somewhat unconcerned and uncooperative when my wife became ill late at night. The young female night manager appeared to be a very inexperienced and failed to offer any immediate assistance regarding directions to a local pharmacy or doctor. Unfortunately, she was not bi-lingual. After a prolonged wait, I was provided a rough sketch showing where the pharmacy was locted in Ollantaytambo`s main square. This entailed me walking in pitch darkness uphill for about a mile to find the pharmacy. Not a pleasant walk! On top of this problem, our guest room had NO HEAT. I learned next day from a front desk clerk, that room heaters were provided only upon request by the guest. Needless to say, we would not recommend this hotel.

Machu-Picchu. . . Sanctuary Lodge was absolutely fabulous. The reception staff were very attentive to my wife upon our arrival. A Day Room was provided for her use until our accomodations were readied. The overall lodge facility is quietly understated and fitting for the environment. The food and beverage service personnel and the menu selection were outstanding. Overall, the Sanctuary Lodge staff, accomodations, and amenities offer a welcome retreat after touring Machu Picchu`s terraces and ancient city. Certainly, the highlight of our vacation! We highly recommend the Sanctuary Lodge.

Cusco. . . Andean Wings Boutique Hotel does not yet rate being called Boutique.

The entrance foyer and main dining room present a very cold feeling to arriving guests. The guest rooms surround an interior courtyard containing the dining room. When we arrived, there was absolutely no heat in the entire dining area.

The portable propane gas heaters spread throughout the courtyard, were not alight. Neither were the table candles lighted. This is a dismal and very unappealing place to enjoy dinner or a drink. Needles to say, we ordered Room Service. . . a pizza that would compare to any fast food delivery pizza place in the suburbs. . .yuk! Our guest room while clean and neatly appointed was extremely noisy, both street noise and other internal noise from guests walking on adjacent wooden stairs to the second floor rooms. The Buffet Breakfast was sparse to say the least. The food presentation was set on very high tables making it very difficult to see and select items from the limited menu. The eggs, bacon and potatoes were cold. The courtyard dining area was being faux painted consequently the paint smell permeated throughout the dining area.

I discussed the above problems with the manager. He acknowledged the noise problems and also stated that the property was being renovated by installing glass panels around the courtyard to alleviate the noise problems. Also, they were working on a better presentation for the buffet service line. He did offer to give us a second floor room. Since we were unpacked and leaving next day, we decline the offer. We would not recommend Andean Wings Boutique Hotel

Puno. . . Casa Andina PC proved to be an good choice for our trip to Lake Titicaca. Although the front desk staff were not too friendly, the restaurant staff made up for it. Very attentive, great service, good menu selections and well prepared meals. The breakfast buffet was great. . .lots of fruit, juices, etc. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Although Casa Andina PC is somewhat distant from Puno, it is ideal for a short stay. We would recommend this hotel.

JWMarriott in Lima was fabulous!

Your website certainly provided us with the ability to customize our vacation. it was easy to use and very informative. The hotel Star rating system helped in making property selection. Likewise, the tour descriptions proved to be very useful and accurate. Well done!

Our vacation to Peru was amazing. The hotels that we upgraded to were beautiful, immaculate with excellent service. Everything went off without a glitch. Every transfer was smooth. The drivers, guides and tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable and made our trip the perfection that it was. Everyone from your local provider that met us along the way was helpful. Our tour guide at Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, Arturo, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional; we learned so much from him. The Casa Andina Private Collection hotels were fantastic, though our favorite hotel had to be Aranwa, which was like a spa compound. We were well taken care of, with everyone always confirming our schedules and being on time for every step of the trip. We will definitely be recommending the use of your website to our friends. Thank you for making this the trip of a lifetime!

I just wanted to let you know we had a fabulous trip to Peru. Condor Travel and their guides were all wonderful. We were met at every single stop by a guide and bus. They were very accommodating and when we needed them for questions or suggestions they were available to help. I did get altitude sickness and a Doctor came to the Casa Andina in Cusco to bring me medicine. I was so grateful to have the medical care that I needed. They were doing some plumbing work and painting while we were there. That was probably our only issue. The water in the shower and sink were really toxic smelling and the smell of paint permeated the hotel, but otherwise we did enjoy the uniqueness of the hotels. We especially liked the Pueblo Hotel and the Sol y Luna Hotel and Spa. We did make a last minute switch in Puno to the Casa Andina Private Collection because we wanted to be near the lake. We were very happy to be there, it was a very nice hotel. The people of Peru are so warm and welcoming. We would recommend this trip and your agency in a heartbeat. We enjoyed all of our tours. We added one afternoon in Puno to seeing a pre-Inca cemetary. We enjoyed every tour we had and each guide was a wealth of information. Thank you once again for making this one of our best trips ever.
