Trip Summary
3 nights in Buenos Aires

Built in the image of the great European cities, Buenos Aires is Argentina's cultural epicenter, known for its music and dance, its cuisine, fine wines, and vibrant night life. Although it has retained much of its Colonial European influence the design and architecture in Bueno Aires reflects influences not only from Spain, but in many cases Paris, Rome and other Euro capitals as well.

Buenos Aires is divided into neighborhoods or barrios, each with its own personality and unique flavor, and cafes, tango bars, clubs, restaurants, museums, and great shopping will make any visit to Buenos Aires fly by.

So whether you are headed from here to the splendor of Patagonia, the wine region, or the majesty of Iguazu Falls, Buenos Aires is a city that will remain in your memory long after the last tango has ended.

2 nights in Punta del Este

Nearly deserted in winter, the population of Punta del Este explodes with on its beaches during the day, and in the clubs and restaurants at night. Droves of sun worshippers and revelers from Montevideo, Argentina, (just across the Rio de la Plata) mingle with trendy international travelers who flock to the beaches, casinos, restaurants and night spots. They arrive by land, air and yacht to the the "Monaco of South America".

The two coastlines of the Uruguayan peninsula provide a calm placid side, and windy side with the well known surf spots (called "brava"). Popular beaches include: "La playa de los Dedos" (The finger beach"), which has a giant hand emerging from the sand, Bikini Beach, famous as a gathering place for trendy "beautiful people", and Paloma located about 90 miles up the peninsula has the best waves in the country, and is a mecca for die hard surfers. The endless beaches, beautiful seaside mansions, tree-lined streets, chic boutiques, stylish people makes this Uruguay's most popular destination during the summer months.

Other attractions include the surreal resort-museum Casa-Pueblo, created by Uruguayan artist Paez-Vilaró , the Candelaria Church, several interesting museums, a zoo, botanical garden, and Isla de los Lobos, the largest seal colony in the southern hemisphere.

2 nights in Montevideo

Situated on the east bank of the Rio de la Plata which separates Uruguay from Argentina, Montevideo is the hub of commerce, education and tourism in the small, but dynamic country of Uruguay. The streets are lined with European style coffee houses, and the city is famous for its outdoor markets and mouth watering barbeque. The Ciudad Vieja area, where most of Montevideo's travelers gather to enjoy the city's oldest architecture, museums, art galleries, nightclubs, and the café's and restaurants and shops of the Mercado del Puerto.
