ESPANOLA ISLAND

ESPANOLA (HOOD):

This is an arid island without trees but with dense vegetation of thorny bushes. The trail of Punta Suarez is very rocky and it is not recommendable for persons with difficulty to walk. It is also the trail that offers the largest number of animals. There are important colonies of marine birds, including Waved Albatross and boobies, also sea lions, marine iguanas, mockingbirds, Galapagos hawks, lizards and many other species.

This is an exceptional place to take pictures, because of the variety of animals that you can find along the hike.

Another place to visit is Gardner Bay, where you find one of the most beautiful beaches of the Galapagos, home of the numerous colonies of sea lions.

Diving You can snorkel and scuba dive in both places, especially in Gardner Bay.
